Spicy and luxurious, Aberlour 18 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky is crafted along the River Spey in the Aberlour distillery. A deeper Sherry influence adds more spiciness and a licorice tang. Greater age adds body and develops the distinctive fruitiness to a rich raisin character. Double Cask, Our makers mature the whisky in two different types of casks: American Oak casks bringing notes of vanilla and toffee, and Oloroso Sherry casks imparting spice and richness. During the years of maturation, the whiskies subtly absorb the casks complexity, adding intricate layers and refined depth. When the time comes, our craftsmen skilfully bring the single malts from both casks together, an art requiring dedication and years of expertise to achieve just the right balance of depth and flavour.
