Green River Distillery is proud to offer the most robust variation of 'Whiskey Without Regrets' through its single barrel expression. This exclusive program provides the opportunity to taste and select a single barrel of Green River Bourbon. Aged for over five years, we are proud to share a limited portion of our signature bourbon as a single-barrel experience. From Lee Diaz, Topflight Series Panel Member: Founded in 1885 in Owensboro, KY, Green River is the 10th distillery licensed in the state. While their whiskey did disappear for a number of years, it returned in 2022 to wide acclaim. Honoring its heritage and producing on the historic grounds of the original distillery, Green River quickly became a fan favorite — both among consumers and within the industry. Among the many accolades they have gathered, Green River was recognized as Worldwide Producer of the Year by the International Wine & Spirit Competition in 2023, and their bourbon has won Gold at both the World Whiskies Awards and the Bartender Spirits Awards. Clearly, we had to find an opportunity to work with this once-again groundbreaking brand — and we finally got that chance with this Single Barrel Bourbon. Selected from a sampling of four very different, outstanding barrels, our final selection — bottled at 118.4 proof — is a classic bourbon with some wonderfully unexpected notes. On the nose, you'll find scents of warm buttered popcorn, brown sugar, stone fruit, vanilla, and light leather. This prepares you for the first sips, which reveal flavors of toasted walnut, candied apple, butterscotch, chocolate-coated peppermints, and oak. The finish lingers with notes of cherry, herbal tea, honey, citrus, and leather.
