Each limited numbered edition bottle has an illustration that offers a new interpretation of Alice from Lewis Carroll's timeless tale Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The result is an actual work of art inside and out that could only be bottled at cask strength. They have beautifully combined the artistry of bourbon production with the designer conventions of a state-of-the-art kitchen to deliver a consistently incredible series of delightfully flavorful releases. To have an opportunity to access their Heigold release as a single barrel at cask strength — this was an instant "Yes." The double malt high-rye conventions of Heigold (at 70% Corn, 25% Malted Rye, and 5% Malted Barley) offer a resulting blend of sweetness, grain-forward maltiness, and subtle tannins. This bold and beautiful pour comes off more subtly than the stated 113 proof point suggests. At the first crack, the aromas of graham cracker, walnut, toasted sugar, dark chocolate, grass, and malt. This leads to flavors full of butterscotch, orange citrus, cherry, cinnamon, and a finish with clove, malt, toasted oak, stone fruit, cashew, and cola. It's a beautiful representation of the brand and a beautiful piece of art (even once your bottle is empty) for your bar.
